Terms & conditions

These terms and conditions form the contract between Afer Surf S.A.R.L. ("Afer Surf", "we", "us") and you, the guest. By making a booking you confirm that you have read and accepted them on behalf of yourself and everyone included in the reservation.

Afer Surf S.A.R.L. is a company registered in Morocco and operating under Moroccan law. Our address is N° 393 Amadel, Imsouane, Morocco.

1. Bookings

A booking is confirmed once you receive a written confirmation from us or from our booking engine (Frontdesk Master).
Direct bookings made through this website are always at our best available rate.
Rates are per bed (dorms) or per room (private rooms), per night, and include taxes unless stated otherwise at the time of booking. City tax, where applicable, is collected on arrival.
We may ask for a card to guarantee your booking, or for a deposit for group bookings and packages.

2. Payment

Payment is due on arrival unless your booking says otherwise. We accept cash (Moroccan dirhams or euros) and card. Package bookings (surf weeks, retreats) require a 50 % deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due on arrival.

3. Cancellations and changes

Cancellation terms for room bookings are shown at the time of booking and in your confirmation. Unless a different policy is stated there:

Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the check‑in date are free of charge.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before check‑in, and no‑shows, are charged the first night.

For packages (surf weeks and similar):

5 weeks or more before the start date: full refund minus a 20 % deposit.
2–4 weeks before the start date: full refund minus the 50 % deposit.
Less than 2 weeks before the start date: no refund.

All cancellations and changes must be made in writing (email or WhatsApp) and take effect from the date we receive them. Bookings made through third‑party platforms (Hostelworld, Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.) are subject to that platform's cancellation terms.

4. Check‑in and check‑out

Check‑in is from 13:30 (14:00 for the standard double room). Check‑out is by 11:30. Late check‑out may be possible on request and subject to availability. We store luggage free of charge before check‑in and after check‑out. A valid passport or national ID is required at check‑in for every guest, as required by Moroccan law.

5. Age policy

Guests in dormitory beds must be 18 or over. Children are welcome in private rooms when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

6. House rules

Afer Surf is a small, family‑run hostel. We ask you to respect the other guests and the neighbourhood: no smoking inside the building, quiet in the rooms after 23:00, no outside visitors in the rooms, and no illegal substances on the premises. We may end the stay of any guest who behaves in a way that is dangerous, abusive or disruptive, without refund.

7. Surfing and activities

Surfing is a water sport carried out in the open ocean, which carries inherent risks. By taking part in a surf lesson, rental or guided session you confirm that you can swim at least 50 metres unaided, that you have declared any medical condition that could affect your safety or that of others, and that you take part at your own risk. Our instructors are ISA‑certified and will always give you a safety briefing; please follow their instructions.

We strongly recommend that every guest holds travel insurance that covers surfing and other activities. Afer Surf does not provide insurance.

8. Rental equipment

You are responsible for rented surfboards, wetsuits and other equipment from the moment you take them until they are returned. Damage beyond normal wear, or loss, will be charged at repair or replacement cost.

9. Liability

Afer Surf is not liable for loss of or damage to your personal belongings. Lockers are provided in the dorms — please use them. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your stay is limited to the amount you paid for the booking.

10. Photos and privacy

We sometimes take photos and videos around the hostel and on the beach for our social media. Let us know if you would rather not appear in them. How we handle your personal data is described in our privacy policy.
